Bulguksa Temple,
Gyeongju, is the lead temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. Building of the current temple began in the 680s. Destroyed and rebuilt many times over the centuries, the last major restoration was between 1969 and 1973. Stone structures are preserved from the original Silla temple.
