Sukothai was capital of Thailand from 1238 to 1378 when it was replaced by Ayutthaya. Today the old city is a historical park. Image shows Wat Mahathat built between 1293 and 1347. The structure housing the large standing Buddha(Phra Attarot) is called a mondop.
