Botanic Gardens - Belfast

Statue of Lord Kelvin (William Thompson) in the Belfast Botanic Gardens. Born in Belfast, he had a distinguished career as a mathematical physicist and was the first to determine the coldest possible temperature. It is set as zero on the Kelvin temperature scale. The 1913 statue is by the Irish-born sculptor, Albert Bruce-Joy.
