Wat Ming Muang - Chiang Rai

Built in 1262 during the reign of King Mengrai (1239 - 1317), it visited by him at least two times a year. Originally called Wat Chiang Moob it was renamed Wat Ming Muang (The auspicious temple of the city) in 1970. It has been rebuilt many times over the centuries and is currently being restored.
