Dublin Castle - Dublin

Dublin Castle, located on the highest point of central Dublin is a former Motte-and-bailey castle originally opened in 1204. Shown is the Record Tower, c 1228, the only medieval tower remaining. In front is the Chapel Royal. Built as a defensive castle, over the centuries it has served many administrative functions and currrently houses a museum.
