Maya Bay on Ko Phi-Phi Lee, near Phuket Island, became known to the world when it featured in the flim, The Beach, starring Leonardo Di Caprio. Its natural beauty attracted too many tourists which eventually lead to closure to allow damaged reef and marine life recovery. Post-Covid19, it is now open but with strict regulations.
