Mui Ne - Vietnam

Fishing Boats at Mui Ne. They are used to catch live crabs, scallops, groupers, and stingrays. The small basket shaped boats are coracles. During the French colonial period the French charged taxes on boats. The locals could not afford the tax so designed their boats to look like large baskets.
