Jade Emperor Pagoda - Saigon
The Jade Emperor Pagoda was founded by a Chinese merchant, Liu Daoyuan, in 1909 to honour the Supreme Taoist God, the Jade Emperor, King of Heaven. In its incense filled interior there are several statues from the Taoist and Buddhist religions. Outside are pools which contain turtles. The turtle symbolises long life and steadfastness. The multifaith of the temple is further emphasised by it Buddhist name, Phuoc Hai Tu.
