St. Nicholas - Sulina

The Cathedral of St Nicholas, the sailor’s protector was intended, to be erected to celebrate the liberation of Dobrogea from Turkish rule, in 1877. However because of problems finding a suitable site its foundation stone was not laid until 1910. It was finally completed in 1982. When I was in Sulina it was being restored.
